Het thema van deze week voor Gothic Arch Challenge is: geschiedenis. Heb een plaatje gebruikt uit de TV gids van Judi Dench, deze prachtige actrice speelt Koningin Elizabeth in de film Shakespeare in Love. Wat een prachtig kostuum heeft ze toch aan. De achtergrond die ik gebruikt heb is een freebie op Dymphies blog, die lag er al zo lang te wachten om iets leuks mee te doen.
This weeks theme of Gothic Arch Challenge is: history. The image is from the gorgeous actrice Judi Dench, she plays Queen Elizabeth in the movie Shakespeare in Love. Wow, I really love that costume. The background I used is a freebie from Dymphie, look at her blog. This gorgeous background was laying around for some time, just waiting to be used.

Na een jaar lang de true color swap te hebben gedaan was het weer tijd voor een nieuw project. We hebben besloten om voor elkaar een verjaardagskalender te maken. Hier komen de eerste 2 maanden. After our year swap, the true color swap, it was time to start a new one, so we decided to make eachother a birthday calendar. Here are the first 2 pages.

Dit prachtwerkstuk ontvangen van Margreet om me te feliciteren met de nieuwe stempellijn Studio Art Stamps, die ik ontworpen heb voor Joan (de introductie is op 1 maart). This gorgeous piece of artwork I received from Margreet, she congratulates me with the new rubberstamp line Studio Art Stamps, which I designed for Joan (they will be introduced on march 1th).

Eerste stap is om je ondergrond te kleuren met acrylverf. Ik gebruik het liefst een paar verschillende kleuren en breng dit aan met een creditcard. First step is to cover your background with acryllic paint. I have used some different colours.
Tweede stap is om met Versamark een woord op de ondergrond te stempelen en misschien nog wat achtergrond stempels. Ik heb stempels gebruikt van Club Scrap en Magenta. Daarna embossen met clear embossing poeder. Step 2 is to stamp the letters (Club Scrap)and a background stamp (Magenta) with Versamark. Then embos with clear embossing powder.
Dan dry-brush gesso over de gehele achtergrond. Natuurlijk kun je hiervoor ook acryl verf gebruiken, maar ik vind het zo leuk dat de gesso de oorspronkelijk kleur nog laat zien alleen in een verzachte vorm. Then dry brush gesso onto your whole background. Ofcourse you can use acryllic paint but I love that the gesso shows the original colours but toned them down.
Dan pak een strijkijzer en een stuk papier en leg dit over je werk. Strijk de embossingpoeder er nu af. Tot zover is dit een techniek beschreven in het ATC boek van Bernie Berlin. Then take your iron and a piece of scrap paper and iron away the embossing powder. So far this technique is discribed in the ATC book from Bernie Berlin.
Dan neem een stempel wat te maken heeft met je woord en stempel met Stazon Black. Then take a stamp which is related to your word and stamp with Stazon Black.
Dan neem je een witte gelpen en omlijnd de letters. Hier kun je het verschil zien tussen de letters die omlijnd zijn waardoor ze naar de voorgrond komen en de letters die ik nog niet gedaan heb. Then take a white gel pen and draw around the letters. The sample above shows you how it looks like when you did it and with the last 2 letters I didn’t use the gel pen yet. It perfectly shows how the white lines make the letters turn into foreground.
En zo ziet het eruit als je helemaal klaar bent. And this is the finished project.
