Voor Anneke

Gekregen van Anneke/Received from Anneke

Kijk eens hoe ik vandaag werd verwend. Anneke en ik hadden een swap afgesproken, zij zou een boekje voor mij maken en ik een canvas voor haar. Vandaag was dus DE dag dat dit schitterende boek (want boekje zou een understatement zijn, het is veel groter dan ik had verwacht) bij mij werd bezorgd. Ben helemaal weg van schapen en groen is mijn lievelingskleur, dus wat wil je nog meer, een regelrechte schot in de roos en perfect tot in detail. En alsof dat niet genoeg was kreeg ik van Anneke ook nog eens een prachtige kaart in bijpassende kleuren. Nogmaals heel erg bedankt Anneke en dank je wel dat je wilde swappen :o)

Look what I received in the mail today. Anneke and me agreed to a swap, she would make me one of her famous booklets and I would make her a canvas. Today was THE day because this absolutely gorgeous booklet arrived, sheep are my favorite animals and green is my favorite colour, so I feel so spoiled today. And if that wasn’t enough she send me this gorgeous card in matching colours. Again thank you so much Anneke and thank you for swapping with me.

Mixed media Monday: something new

Hier mijn bijdrage voor Mixed media Monday: something new. Zaterdag een ontzettend gezellige dag gehad en helemaal geinspireerd geraakt. Nolleke had een ketting gemaakt voor Linda en die zag er zo gaaf uit dat ik dit uit moest proberen, en zie hier mijn nieuwe ketting :o) De combinatie van de gevilte bloemknopjes met de blaadjes van fietsband is super gaaf.

On saterday we had a meet and greet from one of my Yahoo groups, called Mixed Media Diva’s, one of the diva’s, Nolleke, made this necklace for a surprise swap for another diva and this was so inspiring that I had to try that out and ook at my new necklace :o) I love the combination of the little felted flower-bud with the leaves made out of the inside of a cycle-tyre is absolutely awesome.

Dit boekje gemaakt voor Elly voor haar 50ste verjaardag. Gisteren was de Mixed Media Dag en alle aanwezige diva’s gevraagd om er een boodschapje in te zetten. Wat was het weer een ontzettend gezellige dag, ik heb genoten. Elly bedankt!

Made this booklet for Elly, early june she turned 50. Yesterday we had a meeting with the Mixed media Diva’s (a dutch yahoo group) and every diva wrote a little message in the booklet. What a great day it was, I really had so much fun. Elly thank you so much !!!!

Happy accident

Op een van mijn Yahoo groepen, Stempel-ATC genaamd,  kwam een beschrijving over een techniek genaamd gesso-spray techniek. Aangezien ik helemaal wild ben van gesso was dat niet tegen dovemansoren gezegd. Nu stond in de beschrijving dat je microglaze moest hebben om het te sealen, had ik niet dus dacht het wel zonder te kunnen doen want de stempel was afgedrukt met Stazon, wat hartstikke watervast is, ja dat klopt ook wel alleen de ecoline is dat dus niet want toen ik de verdunde gesso erop srpayde ging hij zich mengen met de ecoline, oh boy. Dus de beschrijving in de linkerhand en een werkende heattool om het werk te drogen in de rechterhand, al heatsettende zou ik wel even de beschrijving denken te lezen totdat ik bij het stukje kwam dat je het beter niet kon heatsetten omdat dan de vaseline zou smelten en dun zou worden, een snelle blik naar de rechterkant leerde me dat dat inderdaad het geval is hahaha. De plaatsen waar er geen vaseline zat was een beetje bleekjes geworden dus met mijn nieuwe speelgoedjes (zie artikel hieronder) wat accentjes aangebracht en ik moet zeggen dat ondanks dat het niet lijkt op wat het had moeten zijn ik toch wel blij ben met het resultaat, hij is er eigenlijk nog interessanter door geworden. Hier kun je de eigenlijke beschrijving vinden en  daar kun je ook zie hoe het er eigenlijk uit zou moeten zien.

On one of my Yahoo groups called Stempel-ATC (its a dutch group)  there was a describtion of a technique called gesso spray technique. I absolutely love my gesso so I had to try this out. In the how-to they mentioned micro glaze for protection, I thought it was for the stamped image, but oh no, it was to protect the ecoline inks, because when you spray deluted gesso on the ecoline background it starts to desolve, oh boy. So I took my heattool in my right hand and started to heatset my card, then I took the how-to paper in my left hand and started to read the describtion again, untill I reached the part that said don’t use a heattool when you use vaselin because it starts to melt. Immediately I looked at my right side (multi tasking they call it hahaha) and saw that this was so right!!! oke another lesson learned. The parts where I didn’t put some vaseline and sprayed the gesso mixture was a little pale so I used my new toy (look at the article below) and added little touches of colour. And now …. all those little accidents became one happy accident because I really love how this turned out. Here you can find the actual describtion, and overthere it shows how it should look like.

Wednesday Stamper: here comes the bride

Hier mijn bijdrage voor Wednesday Stamper: hier komt de bruid. Had een artikel gelezen in de Cloth Paper Siccors september/october 2009 issue pagina 20. In dit artikel staan allemaal verschillende manieren om zelf een stempel te maken waaronder deze met het pijp isolatie materiaal. Het viel nog niet mee, maar was wel heel leuk om te doen.

felted soap

2 aaibare zeepjes lekker dicht tegen elkaar/2 cosy felted soaps snuggly together.

Mijn eerste poging, kwam er achter dat ik een beetje teveel vilt had gebruikt/my first attempt, I found out that I had used a little to much felt.

Het tweede exemplaar ging al een stuk beter en hier heb ik een lusje aan gemaakt zodat hij opgehangen kan worden na gebruik/the second one was already much easier, I made a little loop so you can hang it to dry after use.

Dit stond al een tijdje op mijn to-do lijstje en na een bezoekje aan Patty’s blog (gespot op “Deze is ook leuk“) kon ik het toch echt niet langer weerstaan. Ik wist dat ik ergens nog wat stukken zeep had liggen en binnen een handomdraai had ik er 2 klaar.

This was on my to-do-list for ages and after visiting Patty’s blog (spotted at  “Deze is ook leuk”) I couldn’t resist any longer. I knew I had some bars of soap laying around somewhere and in no time at all I felted 2 of them.

Yes, het nieuwe Art Specially magazine, nummer 10 ligt vanaf morgen weer in de winkels. Het is altijd zo genieten als hij weer op de mat valt, en zo spannend, ben benieuwd wat er allemaal in staat.

Yes, the newest issue of the Art Specially magazine is available. Always such a treat to find it on my doormat, and so exciting, I am really curious what is in it this time.

Alweer een tasje

Verslaafd, mmmwwaaahhh een klein beetje maar. Had pas nieuwe wol gekocht en kon het niet weerstaan om er iets mee te doen en die tasjes zijn toch wel heel leuk om te maken ;o)

Addicted,   mmmmmmm just a little bit. Just recently bought some new wool and I couldn’t resist it, so I made another cute little handbag ;o)

Gemaakt door Ina/Made by Ina

Begin juni had ik een klein wedstrijdje en daar kwam lekker veel respons op. Een van de winnaars was Ina en die verraste me vandaag met deze schitterende kaart, zelfs de achterkant is geheel in stijl. En kijk eens naar die gave bloemetjes die met gebruik van de door mij gemaakte stempel wel heel erg apart zijn. Dank je wel Ina, het wedstrijdje was al genieten maar dit is het kersje op de slagroom.

Early june I had a little contest and there where a lot of particpants. Ina was one of the winners and today she surprised me with this absolutely gorgeous card, even the back is in style. Look at the gorgeous flowers, she used my handmade stamp for those and they look awesome. Thank you so much Ina, I had a great time with the contest but this made my day.

The Three Muses: buttons and bows

Hier mijn bijdrage voor The Three Muses: knopen en strikken. De knopen zijn handgemaakt met zelfhardende klei en gekleurd met distress inkt, gestempeld met Versafine en daarna wat weggekrast. Alle stempels zijn van Mandy stamps.  Als beschermlaag heb ik Glossy Accents gebruikt. De strik zit aan de achterkant en is dus niet te zien, maar wel handig als sluiting. Het viel niet mee om mezelf te fotograferen voor de spiegel ;o)

Here my entry for for The Three Muses: buttons and bows. The buttons are handmade out of on the air drying clay, coloured with distress inks, stamped on with Versafine and then made some spots white again. All stamps are from Mandy Stamps. For protection I used Glossy Accents. The bow is at the back, so you don’t see it but its a very easy fastner. I had a hard time making a photo of me wearing the necklace in front of the mirror ;o)

Crazy Amigo’s: WK voetbal

Hier mijn bijdrage voor de Crazy Amigo’s: WK voetbal. Gisterenmiddag mochten de kinderen op school naar de wedstrijd Nederland-Denemarken kijken en natuurlijk mochten ze dat in stijl doen, dus toog Max nadat ik zijn gezichtje oranje had geschilderd met natuurlijk de Nederlandse vlag geheel in oranje naar school. We zijn een redelijk nuchter volkje, maar oh wee als er voetbal is.

Here my entry for Crazy Amigo’s: WC soccer. Yesterday afternoon the kids where allowed to watch the soccer  match The Netherlands-Denmark at school. Ofcourse they could come all dressed up if they wanted to. So after face painting his face orange with the dutch flag he went to school all orange. And even though we are reasonable down-to-earth nation, oh boy we are decidedly not when there is soccer around.
