dagje Amsterdam

Gisteren een dagje Amsterdam, hoog op mijn verlanglijstje stond de Banksy tentoonstelling, maar in Amsterdam zijn en dan niet even bij Posthumus binnen kan niet, heb me weten in te houden 😮 Stempels zijn van Impression Obsession

Yesterday spend the day in Amsterdam, because high on my wishlist was the Banksy exhibit, but I can;t visit Amsterdam and not visit Posthumus (a dutch stamp store). Stamps are from Impression Obsession.

een ets kaartje

Was ik van de week begonnen met een nieuwe ets, schoot ik bij de eerste de beste lijn al uit, gelukkig bovenaan het etsplaatje begonnen en kon dus een reepje ervan afsnijden. De bedoeling was om dat gewoon weg te gooien, bleef natuurlijk rondslingeren op mijn bureau en ik dacht, ik ga gewoon op dit stukje oefenen, want oefening baart kunst en hoe vaker je het doet hoe makkelijker je het materiaal aanvoelt. Hier dus een kleine vingeroefening, die in plaats van in de prullenbak op een kaart eindigde.

Started etching a new one this past week, but with the very first line I tried to carve I slipped, luckely for me it was on top of the etching plate so I could cut off this part and had enough left for the rest. I intended to throw this away but stayed on my desk with the rest of the clutter. The I thought maybe it is a great piece to practise on to enhance my skills, because the more you practise the more you get the hang of it. And instead of slapping it in my waste bin I slapped it on a card.

En nog een keer genieten bij The Stamping Cottage

Gisteren nog een keer deze heerlijke workshop van Geralda Jansen bij The Stamping Cottage gevolgd. Ik krijg er geen genoeg van, maar tegelijkertijd moet nog veel oefenen, vooral het spelen met kleuren.

Yesterday I attended again the workshop given by Geralda Jansen at The Stamping Cottage. I can’t get enoyugh of it, but at the same time I realise I have to practice more, especially playing around with the colours.

Hier wat ik maakte. De eerste zou onze Max moeten zijn, maar schoot uit met de etsnaald op het belangrijkste moment en dat was in een oog, daardoor veranderd het uiterlijk meteen en lijkt hij niet meer op Max, maar vind het nog steeds een knap ventje geworden. Here is what I made. The first one was of our son Max, but I slipped with my etching needle at the most important moment, his eyes. Immediately it changes the look of the face and it isn;t our son anymore, but still looks like a handsome little guy.

De tweede was van een prachtige foto van een roos die ik mocht lenen van Joke, dank je wel Joke 😮 Ook hier nog wat meer oefenen tussen donker en licht. Maar dat is niet erg want dat is een van de leukste en interessantste dingen, hiermee komt iets wel of niet tot leven. And here is the second one, a photo of a beautiful rose I borrowed from one of the students, thank you so much Joke. Still have to practice with the colours, especially in lights and darks, but hey that is the most fun and interesting thing to do, it brings the whole image to life, love it!

En nog eentje

Natuurlijk moet ik dan thuis het geleerde nogmaals in de praktijk brengen zodat ik weet dat ik het ook zonder de bezielende leiding van juf Geralda kan 😮 Deze stempel is van Viva Las VegaStamps en tot nu toe mijn favoriete stempel ooit denk ik, afgedrukt op een stukje papier, ingescand en vergroot. Daarna het ets plaatje gemaakt. Ik dacht dat er geen eind kwam aan het aantal vogeltjes, dit was best veel werk, ik was gisteren om 9.00 begonnen en om 13.00 uur klaar. Maar dan heb je ook wat. De kleur die ik gebruikt heb is Sepia.

Ofcourse I had to try if I could do it myself without the help of the taltend teacher Geralda 😮 The stamp is from Viva Las VegaStamps and till this time my favorite stamp ever, love love love it!. I stamped the image on a white piece of paper, scanned it and enlarged it. Then I made the etching plate. WOW I thought the birds where never ending. I starated yesterday at 9 am and finished at 1 pm. A lot of work, but I love it. The colour I used is Sepia.

workshop etstechniek bij The Stamping Cottage

Gisteren een heerlijke workshop gevolgd bij The Stamping Cottage. Het was de ets techniek gegeven door Geralda Jansen. Wat heb ik veel geleerd en ontzettend genoten. Bedankt Geralda voor deze geweldige dag en natuurlijk ook bedankt aan het super team van The Stamping Cottage zelf, want het was weer een feestje.

Yesterday I attended a class at The Stamping Cottage. The workshop was given by Geralda Jansen. And did I learn a lot. Thank you so much Geralda for this wonderful day, I learned so mcuh. And ofcourse thank you to the super team at The Stamping Cottage, they turned it into a treat.

Viva Las VegaStamps challenge august

Hier mijn bijdrage voor de augustus challenge bij Viva Las VegaStamps. Eerst het meisje in het bootje gestempeld. Daarna wat water op de kaart aangebracht en verschillende kleuren Magenta Nuances erin gestrooid. Daarna nog wat gespatterd met dunne bleek.. Here my entry for the august challenge at Viva Las VegaStamps. For I stamped the image with the banksy girl in boat, then I dropped some water onto my card and sprinkled different colours Magenta Nuances. Then I splattered a little with bleech.
