Second fabric skinny made for Trudi

Deze stoffen skinny is de tweede die ik gemaakt heb voor mijn swap met Trudi. Het plaatje van het meisje en de klokken zijn freebies van Elizabeth. En aangezien ze bij Art Creations Friday een open thema hebben kan deze daar mooi voor meedoen.

En hij past mooi bij de tijd van het jaar en maak ik tevens van de gelegenheid gebruik om iedereen een heel voorspoedig, gelukkig, gezond en creatief 2010 toe te wensen.

Kinda steampunk

Gisteren was Jeanette weer een dagje hier en we hadden besloten om iets steampunk-achtigs te gaan doen. Het oorspronkelijk plan was eigenlijk een canvasje maar toen ik laatst deze supergave vorm luciferdoosjes vond is het dat geworden.  Het waxinelichtje is er een op batterijtjes omdat ik dat veiliger vindt. We hebben gebruik gemaakt van oude gesloopte klokken, drijfhout, metaalsheet door de cuttlebug, pagina’s uit een oud boek, ijzerdraad, reageerbuisje, klein flesje, schelpjes en meer :o)

Yesterday Jeanette came over to my house to spend the day. We decided to do some stemapunk kinda thing. The original plan was to work on a canvas but when I recently founds this awesome shaped match box we decided to use that instead. The little candle is fake and works on batteries because I didn’t think it was safe to use a real one.  We have used parts from old clocks, driftwood, metal sheet put through the cuttlebug, pages from an old book, test tube, little glass bottle, shells and more :o)

3 in 1

Soms heb je geluk :o) Het is niet mijn favoriete bezigheid om kerstkaarten te maken. Deze kaart gemaakt voor een swap met Wilma met als thema rendier(en). Ik had op internet dit rendier gevonden en zorgvuldig uitgeknipt, de maskers gebruikt om te sponzen. Toen ik klaar was met de bovenste kaart zag ik het buitenmakser liggen en dacht: dit is te mooi om weg te gooien, dus die ook wat verder gesponst en bestempeld. Daarna zag ik het binnenmasker liggen wat ongeschonden uit de strijd was gekomen en dacht: hier kan ook mooi nog een kaart van gemaakt worden en voor ik het wist had ik 3 kaarten.

Sometimes one is lucky. I don’t like making christmas cards. Made the first one for Wilma for our personal swap, she choose reindeer, but I don’t have a reindeer in my stamp collection and found this one on internet, carefully cut out and sponged and stamped the card. Then I saw the outside mask on my desk, to beautiful to throw away, so I sponged that one a little more, stamped on it and made it into a card. Then I saw the inside mask, it wasn’t damaged so I thought it would make a great card also. And before I knew it I ended up with 3 cards.

Matchbox with felting

Vond deze supergave luciferdoos bij de Action, kon het neer weerstaan om hem te kopen, de oorspronkelijke afbeelding was niet zo denderend (helaas vergeten een ervoor/erna foto te maken), maar de vorm gaf me meteen inspiratie. En omdat ik een nieuwe verslaving heb, namelijk vilten, voor de buitenkant een lapje nat gevilt op metaalorganza.

Look what I found in a shop, this awesome shaped matchbox. I couldn’t resist it even though the outside looked not very nice, but I was inspired by its form immediately. Unfortunally I forgot to make a before/after photo. And as you know I have a new addiction: felting, so I wet felted on a piece of metallic organza.
