Yesterday Jeanette came over to spend the day doing some creative stuff, I showed her how I made SMILE, so while Jeanette worked on a larger scale I decided to make an art journal page, this art journal reflects all the thingsĀ  what keep me busy creatively. Look here for the result from Jeanette.

VLVS-GJS 01

Front and back cover. This is a scalloped book from Genuinely Jane Studios. Instead of using the covers and pages, I removed the 2 pages and made that into another booklet.

VLVS-GJS 02

Front cover: I painted the outside of the front cover with white acryllic paint and made black squares with a permanent marker. Dis the same with the back cover. I took some paper and stamped, masked and coloured the images on it. Coloured in with distress inks. Glued it on the cover with miracle tape. All images are from plate 949.

VLVS-GJS 03

Did the same with the back cover.

VLVS-GJS 04

Stamped the Harlequin background and the fuilmstrip on with M’xed Media Inx. Stamped the line of Cevrons with Versafine. Used some washi tape. Then I hammered some nails in to hang the pages. Did this on both sides of the front cover as well as on the back cover.

VLVS-GJS 05

Cut some pages and made holes to hang it on the nails. Found out that when i closed the booklet and opened it again the pages did fall out. So I cut out some triangles with the Quickutz and made a cut with a scissor on one side of the triangle, this way I can remove the triangles when I want to decorate a page. Stamped the circles (from plate 949) on with Stazon Black.

VLVS-GJS 06

Decorated the first page.

VLVS-GJS 07

Detail photo: the triangles enhances the page, doesn’t that look awesome.

The booklet photographed in another angle.

VLVS-GJS 09

Enhanced the rings (why WordPress turns this photo I don’t know )

Was afgelopen zaterdag even naar The Stamping Cottage in Schaijk gereden.

Last saterday IĀ went to The Stamping Cottage, its a dutch stamping store in Schaijk. Always a treat to be there, it relaxes me so much just being there even when my muze in on vacation I get inspired. Angela was giving a workshop (will show you more later). And even though I planned to stay just for an hour, before I knew itĀ  it was closing time, so I offered to help clean up the craft sheets because they where full of paint, Always such a shame to throw away good stuff, so Angela gave me some paper and I layed it down into the paint on the craftsheet, turned the paper, sprayed with water and held my paper vertically to let the water/paint run. I had the intention to cut up the large piece of paper (50 x 50 cm) to cut into the size of cards, but I liked this one so much I decided toĀ use the way Elise from Grow Creative showed in the tutorial and also inspired by the paintings of Andy Warhol in the Groninger Museum. Used black gesso to paint the image.
