Vanmorgen/middag een bezoekje gebracht aan The Stamping Cottage en toen zag ik de banner die op het event mijn boek adverteerde, kon het niet laten om met dit prachtige meer dan levensgrote exemplaar op de foto te gaan. Dank je wel Marga voor het maken van de foto. This morning/afternoon I visited The Stamping Cottage and saw the banner that show cased my latest book at the event. I couldn’t resist to let Marga take my photo next to this more then life sized awesome banner. Thank you Marga.

En hier is boekje nummer 5, eenvoudig cahiersteek omdat ik met vilt wilde werken en dat toch wat lastiger is. And here is book number 5, just a simple stitch because I wanted to work with felt and that makes things harder.

Here my project using Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko and Viva las VegaStamps. This awesome ink is great to not only stamp with but using it to mixed media projects as well. Love the rich colours of each and every type of ink.
I started to make a step-by-step photo tutorial but got lost in my art after the second step. I was so busy spraying, inking, sponging, stencelling and stamping that I simply forgot.
step 1: take a blank notebook or old book and glue the edges of all the pages together. Then draw a square all little above the middle and a rectangle the sixe of a matchbox on you righthand side slightly above the bottom. Glue all these edges as well, I used a gelmedium to do so. Give it a coat of gesso.
step 2: Take the goosebumps bottle and spray as close to the paper as possible, this way you get great drips downwards. After drying, spray the whole spread with Pear Tart, Fireworks Bamboo Leaves and Cotage Ivy. take a paint brush and paint the inner space of the sqaure with All-purpose Ink vegas Gold.
Then I forgot to take the photo’s, sorry!!! But I added different colours with a round sponge with Memento de Luxe and Radiant Neon, a red one in the centre of the square. Used a stencil for the dotted circles and used Memento de Luxe. Stamped the invoice and the numner 7c with Memento dye ink black and the Big Ben and the wasps with Memento dye ink red. Then I sprayed Shimmer Spritz Sprakle on the spread (unfortunally that doesn’t show on the photo but in real life it gives it a subtile sparkle.) Then I stamped the whimsical Kids on a scrap piece of paper and coloured it with a waterbrush and Memento Dye Ink. Last but not least I sprayed the matchbox with the same colours Fireworks as I used before and coloured the front with Memento de Luxe. Tied a bottle as a handle and put some bottles in it. The centre square I enhanced with 2 bottles with a scroll of paper in it and a little butterfly on the outside.

Over een paar dagen ga ik deze weggeven, en nu dus verpakt als kadootje, zo leuk om met de strikkenmaker er iets leuks van te maken. Leuk he, al die pasteltintjes. I will be giving this present in a few days, so I turned it into a real present using my DIY bowmaker. Aren’t the pastel colours of the ribbons awesome.

Was eigenlijk niet de bedoeling, en bij het 4de boekje ontstond het idee, ik had bij toeval nummer 4 gestempeld op de kaft op het vierde boekje. Dus besloten om ieder boekje een nummer te geven totdat ik 52 boekjes heb, een jaarproject dus, dit zou betekenen dat het 1 boekje per week wordt, maar loop nu dus even voor, wat wel fijn is omdat ik dan wat ruimte heb voor de weken dat ik niet kan. Hieronder dus de boekjes op volgorde tot nu toe. It wasn’t meant to be, but with the forth book I got this idea, by coicidence I stamped the number 4 on this forth book, so now I want to make 52 books, for each week one, I already have 4 within a week, but that makes up for the weeks I can make it. So underneath the books so far.

boek 2, hier heb ik het nummer aan de binnenkant verwerkt omdat ik niet aan de prachtige buitenkant wilde komen/ book 2, here I put the number on the inside because I didn’t want to touch the gorgeous paper on the front.
boek 3, schriftje, heb ik eenvoudig gehouden, en deze stempel past wel bij het boekje/book 3, notebook, I kept it simple, I think the stamp suits the booklet perfectly
en tenslotte boekje 4, dit nummer eigenlijk gebruikt omdat ik de stempel zo leuk vond en laat dit nu net op het vierde boekje zijn, de aanzet voor dit project/ and last but not least book 4, I used the number stamp because I love the look of it and it happened to be the forth book I made, the start of my 52 book project.

Het is toch best wel spannend om het eerste boekje helemaal zelfstandig thuis te doen, zonder gebruik te maken van de expertise van Dymphie. Maar dit is mijn poging geworden, niet helemaal zonder slag of stoot, maar uiteindelijk toch goed gekomen. De stempels die ik gebruikt heb zijn van Viva las VegaStamps, het mannetje kreeg ik als kadootje voor mijn verjaardag van mijn schoonzus. Heb de kaft gemaakt van grijsbord karton maar dan zonder te bekleden, vind het uiterlijk van het grijsbord zelf zo leuk. De binnenkant is gemaakt van vellen stijfselmarmers om en om afgewisseld met handgeschept papier.
Its a bit trilling to make a booklet all on my own, without the expertise from Dymphie. This is my first try, making mistakes along the way, but finally managed to finish it. The stamps that I used are from Viva Las VegaStamps, the man with umbrella was a present from my SIL for my birthday. The cover is made from grey board, leaving it as is because I love the look of it. The inside has paste paper pages turn and turn with off white paper.

Gisteren bij Dymphie een workshop gevolgd om te leren hoe je een koptische binding maakt. Het was hard werken, maar moe maar voldaan gingen we naar huis. Dank je wel Dymphie, voor zowel je duidelijke uitleg als wel je gastvrijheid.
Als eerste deze papierenkaft versie, met 2 kleuren draad, je ziet wel dat ik nog wel even moest oefenen op het aantrekken van de draad, ik trok nog regelmatig te strak, maar vind het wel een super leuk klein boekje geworden, waarvan ik de kaft nog wil versieren.
Het tweede boekje is gemaakt met grijsbord karton en bekleed met papier (we mochten bij Dymphie uitzoeken welk papier we wilden en ik koos dit prachtige papier wat door Dymphie zelf gekleurd is). Je ziet dat ik innmiddels de steken wat gelijkmatiger kan maken, oefening baart dus inderdaad kunst.
En als kersje op de taart sloten we nog af met een eenvoudig maar superleuk boekje met de cahier steek, maar dan met 5 gaatjes (i.p.v. de mestgebruikte 3).
En nu de komende tijd nog wat boekjes maken zodat ik over een tijdje nog steeds weet hoe het moet, oefenen, oefenen, oefenen dus 😮

Doordat ik de maart challenge heb gewonnen mocht ik guest designer voor de mei challenge en de uitdaging is om net als vroeger met een aardappel te stempelen. Ik vond dat vroeger al leuk en er is niks veranderd, het is nog steeds leuk, alleen zijn mijn werkjes wat volwassener geworden. Kijk HIER op de blog van Craft Stamper voor de challenge.
Because I won the march challenge I was ask to make something as a guest designer for the may challenge, the challenge is to stamp swith a potato, like we used to do when we were kids.
